Hello fellow AC'ers,
I am cleaning out the audio closet, and have a few nice things to sell. This is one:

I believe this amp was built in 1959. It is a PP EL-84 amp that puts out 14 watts of glorious tube sound. I purchased it in original condition with the express intent to learn how to rebuild gear. Tube gear guru Jim McShane supplied a parts set for me to use and with his guidance I replaced the critical parts with new, including the large Can capacitor on the top. I replaced the RCA inputs with new high quality Cardas RCA jacks. There are holes drilled in the top rear that were originally for new speaker terminals, but I never finished them, so the original screw terminals are still in operation. The L/R volume pot adjustment knobs are original as well. I did make a novice mistake; I tried with only moderate success to paint the amp in a hammer tone green and taped off the areas with writing. It looks ok, but it is no longer original. Lastly, the cord, which is high quality shielded Belden and a Hubble hospital grade cord cap, is somewhat twisted. This is because the cable was originally in a 3 cable configuration, but this would not work with this amp, so the other two cables were removed. This amp works great and has that wonderful EL-84 tone. It would be a magical mate to a single driver speaker like Omega or Fostex.
I will furnish a complete (but used) tube set. I would prefer a local sale, but will pack well for shipment to the lower 48. I am asking $450.00 plus shipping. Add 3% for Pay Pal. US Sales only, sorry. Please note: The tubes shown in the pictures
are not the tubes to be furnished with the amp.
