vr 33's price
« on: 6 Feb 2015, 05:47 pm »
I thought the price of the 33's had gone up to $4500 but, at the VSA site it shows $3750. I'd never really looked at the price at the site before. Is it they just haven't changed the price at the site<
Thank you

Hello Fellow Audiophiles,

A year ago, we made some improvements to the VR-33 and had considered calling it a "MK2" version.  At the same time, we raised the price from $3,750 to $4,500.  After six months, our increased production capacity enabled us to lower the price back to the original price based on our higher volume of sales.  The current price is still the original price of that model when it debuted in 2009 = $3,750/pr.  Free shipping and an in-home 90 day trial is still standard, with zero restocking fee.  With several thousand pairs sold, only a few have been returned. Most of the returns were due to husband not letting wife know about the purchase in advance, etc.  Only 2 or 3 people had rooms that didn't work with the boundary-loading design.

As our dealers were a little confused that some of our models were being sold Factory Direct, we decided to rename the VR-22,33 and 35 series "Vortex Acoustics by Von Schweikert."  This name change has made the dealers happy, but I wish to reiterate that the speakers are identical in every way to the originals.  We build them in the Von Schweikert factory with the original personnel; nothing has gone "off shore."   All three models continue to be upgraded as we find better ways to build them, and there is now an option for a painted version with removable grills.  We'll have photos of these models on our website soon.

Stay tuned!

Always thought Albert to be a unique and honest person in his builds and what makes his product's sound better than most of the competition. How many manufactures would lower the price of a product that hasn't moved production off shore? Very few. Seems to me that although companies may move their production overseas, they don't lower the price, so the buyer see's no benefit at all. Only one's to benefit are the manufactures and the buyer's get a product made in place's such as Red China and we suffer, in many way's. People tend to forget that keeping jobs here leads to a stronger and better country. Thank you Albert for all the positive way's you effect this hobby.
