I always like to check parasol.com every week.
Check on the New Arrivals line on the right hand side.
They have 15% off for the first week in stock and their
prices are overall reasonable in the first place.

When the Kinks reissue came out (Village Green Preservation Society, another thread I started), I bought it from Amazon about a week, maybe two before it popped up on Parasol as a new release. Damned if it wasn't a few bucks cheaper! So I bought my friend a copy, just couldn't pass up a deal...

They have lots of vinyl. Check out the deep discount area of sealed vinyl also.

I just bought the Pixies re-issues at a very good price from Parasol - thanks for the suggestion. :D

Another source would be to order directly from a label that encourages vinyl  such as Matador. You get a more narrower selection, but if a label features a genre you like, that could be a good thing (i.e. not sifting through dance lp's if you're looking for alternative rock or alt-country).

Only problem with Parasol is sometimes the web ordering system doesn't work and you have to call them.

Also, in the comments box you should indicate whether you want a partial order sent. Otherwise they sit on it and send it when it all comes in. They are great people but not the best at communicating the status of your order.

But, unlike Amazon, they don't hit you with so many suggestions windows and "people like you also bought..." boxes that you don't know if you're coming or going!

I just placed an order and the web system didn't send everything, the "confirm your order" area said "0.00" with none of my purchases listed. I think they've been having some glitches with their web ordering lately.

BUT

and this is a big BUT

they have their own house labels, they promote obscure, good music (like Soundtrack of Our Lives and Kevin Tihista and Green Pajamas (BUY SOME GREEN PAJAMAS NOW: the best band you never heard! Try the greatest hits if you're timid).

Anybody with their own house labels deserves our support even if it takes a little bit more trouble to order from them.

Tonto, the matador website is great.  I dig the genre.  Have more like it?  Starting to rebuild my LP collection, and this does help.

Sorry, can't think of similar sites (but there MUST be some).
For something completely different, you might try Fantasy for their OJC jazz LP's---huge number of titles and the discs are reasonable($9.98).
Their site emphasizes CD's, so you might have to order a paper catalog to find all the vinyl.

Tonto,
you're becoming more and more senile with each day.
Did we forget Insound records? Specifically the annex of the site??

BTW, there's a 5 disc set of John Cale for $50 too.
