I've just watched Inherent Vice.

Not sure what to say.

Maybe someone can explain this bizarre film.

I started a movie group about 15 years ago. Once a month us guys get together for a movie and a discussion over dinner. Over the years, we have had some dislikes to the point where one or two walked out. For the first time in our history, ALL of us walked out.

Why this movie received an A- rating in our local paper, I can't even begin to imagine. Why these really great stars--Joachin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, e.g.--ever went near this turkey I can't begin to understand either.

You said, "bizarre." We said, "stupid." Uggghhhhh!

Not everyone can handle Thomas Pynchon.

I have not seen it yet, but will.

In my mind (and I may be way off) I am hopeful for a good, twisty adventure ala Big Lebowski, Fear and Loathing in LV, or True Romance etc.

I may be disappointed, but it seems like something I might like.

My favorite writer and one of my favorite directors : yeah, got to see it.

I'm ok w/ the dizzy meandering at times of TP - and I've read the book, so hopefully that'll help.  If the acting is up to par, I think I'll enjoy it.

Caught it last night.

For me, it was an interesting blend of other movies I have enjoyed.  Namely the Fear and Loathing and Big Lebowski type thang.

Not for everyone no doubt, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.
