Up for sale is my Burson Conductor SL 1793 DAC/AMP with preamp functionality in excellent condition (I never say mint or near mint, mint is new in box, and near mint, means I opened the box and never touched it) but the item looks pretty much new. It sat on my desk for a month and went into the box. The Burson was purchased from Parts Connexion, a Burson dealer and Burson's NA service/repair center and the preamp functionality was added by them as well which costed an extra 100$. The DAC was upgraded with a C-Media CM6631A 24bit 192kHz USB Receiver Module as well. Also includes: RCA cable, USB cable, power cord, paperwork, box.
The Burson is equipped with the Burr Brown SL 1793 which I actually prefer over the ESS Sabre SL 9018. I placed the Burson in my main setup with Revel Gem's and an ATI AT2000 amp and preferred it over my Oppo 105. The Burr Brown was warmer, more musical and less edgy than the more analytical Oppo 105. The volume control was great compared to the Oppo's digital volume control.
I'm only selling because I've moved on to a balanced setup with balanced outs of my speaker amp which is more of a priority to me. It costed me nearly twice as much and i'm not even sure it's better...
The two-year warranty is NOT TRANSFERRABLE per Burson. To guarantee that you get a fully functional unit, I have shipped it back to Parts Connexion for a full inspection on my dime and they will ship it to your address at no cost to you.
550$ includes PP and shipping to anywhere in Canada and US. If you try to buy the same item from Parts Connexion, it'll cost you 720$ (600$ for the amp, 100$ for the preamp upgrade and 20$ for shipping). So you can save 120$ here and have a pretty much brand new amp shipped from the factory as well.
