Wrong forum? Ya... Good community where I don't have to talk to a bunch of jerks? Big Ya.
My friend has a band. I try to teach him as much as possible at everything but he's difficult... However it makes what I'd consider to be pretty good music. His new stuff is vastly better, and the new album will be great. However the current one is actually a fun time for playback. It was all done on a Tascam, on tape. It's nearly unfathomable that he could keep track of it all. It's got a lot of subtle things in it. Frankly it reminds me John Fahey's Turtle album.
But it could use a helping hand. He can't envision what a little assistance could do for it. His mind isn't in this realm. He doesn't think in soundstage, but does pan and record things in some different ways. I think for someone that likes slightly psychedelic, plugged in, music it could be fun. Obviously I'm not asking anyone to take on a burden they don't want or anything. This is a very loose invitation for minor entertainment.
The album in question is more likely to appreciated by this forum than the crowd that goes to see them live. It's an odd piece of layering, playing, etc. It's just a bit tough to listen too atm. Many effects used aren't bad, but had consequences that a little work could help. There's some conflicting issues.
