And just so I can veer  even more off the original post's subject, I'll add that I'm sorry to see McFeelys change their focus to a broader "tool provider that sells screws".  They've been through a couple of new owners over the last 5 or 6 years and the last time I ordered they were out of or no longer providing about half of what I wanted to order, screw wise. meh

Being in the alarm industry for 30 years we used to use Robertson square drive screws for everything. The main reason was for security, back then no one new about them "in Seattle anyway". Once you start using them you're sold. I still use them for almost everything if I can get the correct size and type. Like mentioned the great thing about them is they stay on the end of the driver so you can use one hand, such as working over your head. Now I like Hex drives as well, they also hold the screw fairly well.

What's the trick to open up the speakon once it has "snapped" together? It was very easy to put one together, but I'm now trying to change the cable but struggeling opening it up again.

Good info Peter.

I have also been using a small Phillips with them without issue.

JDUBS - ahh great info. Many thanks.

Btw: how do you guys like the speakon in general? This is my first time using them, and I like them quite a bit plus they don't cost too much.

I think they're fine for frequency ranges below 200Hz.
