Musical Fidelity M6i Integrated Amp*** SOLD***
« on: 4 Jan 2015, 07:20 pm »
What I’m offering here is a Musical Fidelity M6i Integrated Amp. I purchased it new in May, 2014. I baby my gear so condition is mint save one thing. There is a tiny scratch on the M6i badge. I tried to capture in photo, but it’s hard to see unless you’re looking for it. I think it will please even the fussiest  of audio geeks.

I really liked what this did in my system. I’m not all that good with flowery descriptions of sound, so I’ll leave that to reviewers. I can tell you that this drove my Northcreek Rhythms with tremendous authority and I never wished for more power or finesse. I bought it because of previous good experience with Musical Fidelity.

I’m selling because I’ve gone to separate amps and preamp to accommodate speaker changes that require line level filtering. I could’ve accomplished this with the M6i, but didn’t want to modify it.  Also, of course, there’s that crazy compulsion to try something new and different, which I succumbed to.

FWIW, original list price was $2995 but let’s face it, audio gear rarely fetches list price. Because I’d like to see this go away sooner rather than later, I’ll sell it for $1550 insured and shipped to your door within conus. That’s a great deal for an omnipotent integrated. Packed in original double boxes and includes all that came with it, including velvet bag and white gloves. I’ll even eat the PayPal fees should if you want to pay that way. How can you say no?

Here’s what Musical Fidelity has to say:
“From its exquisite build and future-proof connectivity to its technical excellence and powerful performance, the M6i is a no-compromise integrated amplifier.
It may be a single-box design, but the M6i is internally engineered as a separate pre-amplifier with two discreet monobloc power amplifiers.
This enables it to deliver a 200 watts-per-channel performance that's exceptional for an integrated amplifier – and which surpasses that of many pre/power amp pairings.
The M6i is a highly flexible design, allowing it to be used in a wide range of systems. In addition to four line-level inputs and one balanced connection, there's a USB socket to suit computer-based audio. There's also a home-theatre throughout option, allowing you to seamlessly integrate the M6i into an AV set-up.
The M6i has the power and technical sophistication to drive any speaker with ease, sounding calm and unruffled as it moves from quiet musical moments to huge dynamic shifts.
As Alan Sircom's review for HiFi+ concludes: "The M6i is in it for the long term; it's an amplifier that will be used by listeners for years and years.””

Dang, I thought I had this in the "can't refuse" price zone. Not a nibble here.

 What's it gonna take, y'all?
