This is a hard to find Pioneer Elite PD-59 CD player, which features the excellent "stable platter mechanism" transport that Pioneer featured in their reference players. In fact, this mechanism was used in players costing many times more, including those from Wadia. This is the little brother to the acclaimed PD-65, but without the copper chassis. Some felt that this player, used as a standalone unit, gave up little to its more expensive siblings and at a much more attractive price point (the PD-59 retailed for $595). I primarily used this as a transport, although I did appreciate its performance as a standalone player.
The unit it in excellent physical and mechanical condition, as evidenced by the photos. It comes with the correct CU-PD070 remote, manual and original box and packaging. There are no issues with this player, and I'm confident you'll be happy with it as either a transport or standalone player. I'm almost all analog now, hence the sale.
