ikea poang chair

The IKEA poang chair is relatively cheap, and comfortable. Unfortunately it has a high back. So, I folded the head rest part under the cushion and it helps enormously. Maybe my next tweak will be to cut off the top slat to make it even less acoustically invasive.

Inclined seated angle and height are also a concern for me , so i use the ones in my listening room for relaxation and the serious listening in a standard type low back chair .....

The low height can be a blessing for relatively short speakers where the tweeter is low. Make it a lot easier to sit at the same level as the tweeter

I had some low back "accent" armless chairs from, I think, Crate & Barrel. They were not cheap, but after a couple years they became really uncomfortable as the support across the front dug into my hamstrings. Since I got rid of them I decided that it's okay to compromise a small amount of acoustic optimization for the sake of not having to feel like I'm sitting on a picket fence.

I had the occasion lately to sit in one of these Poang chairs for a while at a friends during Super Bowl and found it unfortunately not that comfortable.  Padding wouldn't really stay in place and the angle was somewhat off.  Maybe it was a bit too old or tired example, or me just too old / tired / fat.  Pity, because at under $100, I really wanted to like it.......

The Klippan loveseat - at least the leather one I had - was a good, compact low rise loveseat with good back support.  Lasted for several years before many hours of use meant the bottom springs had loosened to much to provide adequate resistance / support. But for $300 - $500 its quite a good deal - and you have an extra spot to snuggle up w/ your significant other - or audiophile buddy.......
