Hegel P30 Reference Preamplifier in like new condition. I purchased it new from a local authorized Hegel dealer in April 2014. I am the first and only owner, and the preamp is in functional and cosmetic condition that is indistinguishable from brand new. New list price is $7500.

I like the sound of this unit better than any other preamplifier I've heard; but I’m eliminating a preamp from my system with the addition of the spendy MSB Analog DAC. Originally I was on the hunt for an excellent tube preamp but stopped once I heard how this Hegel P30 performed. The sound of the P30 will compete with any super-megabuck unit; it is neutral and transparent, the dynamics are excellent, it has a well-behaved flat and extended response and the background is silent. When added after the MSB Analog DAC there is slight improvement in some depth and transient to some sounds, and a small warming bump in the mid-lower bass that adds wee richness without giving up a single nuance of detail. I describe the sound as “transparent & strong”. I had five other audio geeks over for a gear shootout last weekend and all attested to hearing the same thing. I would like to sell this P30 preamp to help relieve the DAC-buying budget. I was able to compare this preamp to the Aesthetix Calypso Signature, Ayre KX-5 and AMR DP-777 but those fell flat out of contention compared to the P-30 which is in a totally higher class. The neutrality of the P30 stands above the syrupy colored sound of a Conrad-Johnson or more sterile sound of Audio Research. The P30 preamp puts all your monies towards function without non-essential bling and glitter. That’s my best description and here’s some others:
