Inquiring minds want to know.
Since any material is going to transmit vibration more
than air, has anybody tried to build a levitation shelf for gear? I was thinking along
the lines of a sandbox design. On the bottom would be magnets to repulse magnets
on the bottom of the shelf. On the sides would be magnets to repulse each other
on the sandbox and shelf. I would think this would keep the shelf and gear suspended
in mid air.
Is this a stupid idea? I'm not an engineer or scientist; nor do I play one on TV.
I would think that someone that could build something like that could make a
business of it. Of course it would have to prove that it improves the sound quality
of any system.
