Found this nearby for $350.  Panasonic plasma model th-50pz80u

I'm not in the market for a flat screen anytime soon, but is this set a good one to keep me happy for the next 5+ years or so?

I have that model or similar (PX80U I think). Year 5 and still going strong. I think it has outstanding picture quality. Never got mine professionally calibrated but I think it would definitely be worth it to do so.

I've also got a 50" Panasonic plasma. Never had a single problem with it in the 6 years I've owned it. The back of the panel is all metal. Mine is anyway. Nice picture.

Hard to go wrong at that price point.  If I was in the market for a TV (I already have 2 projectors set-up plus multiple sets including a 55 and 50 inch ones), I'd grab one (if one of my sets went tomorrow it would be ordered ASAP).

Shoot, now it says "no longer available". I'd buy one at that price. I paid $400 for my plasma and it was smaller.
