Up for sale, my Eico HF-81 amplifier, ca. 1960. Fantastic EL84 sound. Much is original but new PIO coupling caps, good film and electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. Voltages even and bias good. Modifications: the balance ('Focus') pot is bypassed, new power cord (of course), new speaker connectors added, and some RCA jacks (see pics). Phono section is terrific, new caps there. Upper enclosure was resprayed with close to original paint. Some tarnishing on steel chassis. Tubes are all excellent vintage Amperex, Mullard, and RCA. New tube sockets installed in output and rectifier positions. Never a problem in playing ; the only things you could say are less than ideal is the transformer gets very hot (typical for these amps; you could upgrade to new exact-replacement Heyboer) and some of the original plastic knobs are a bit off center. Original working ON switch. This was my favorite amplifier but medical bills force sale. Examine the pictures. All questions answered.
Will pack well for the trip, double-boxed. Asking $800. Shipping and Paypal fees included.
Thanks for looking.
Pete
