Dusty old Hafler DH 110 for a possible mod
« on: 7 Dec 2014, 03:47 pm »
Besides the Super PAS4 I am considering upgrading with a buffer IC replacing the old opamp (as suggested by "Lefty" http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=130701.0)  I also now have an elderly DH-110 (a 65 dollar EBAY score) that I'm now thinking about upgrading (linestage) for use in another system. One of the members suggested if I didn't want to invest much cash on this preamp was to build the old Versa kit circuit (Audio Basics, 1994....he claims it was basically the same circuit as were used in the old Omega III). Anyone have any practical experience with do something like this?

Does AVA still offer upgrades to the old Hafler? I see PAT4 and PAT5 still mentioned here and there. Thanks again to anyone offering their thoughts. -T

The little Haflers can sound quite good when modded.
