Why would you want your speakers on stands when they could levitate instead and will adjust their volume according to you proximity. Meet MARS.

Meh. I'd rather have real performance, not something that "feels like magic." So gimmicky.

Aside from the hyperbole, it does have a cool factor and cool does sell to the right audience. And if the sounds sucks, maybe you could use it as a levitating drink holder.

I wanna play with one.

I wonder who'd cough up $5k to visit the factory in China? And oh yeah, it doesn't include travel...hmmm.

I'll bet it sounds better than one thinks.

Well, I wish my Industrial Design brother good luck!
It takes a lot to develop a new product. And I am all for getting music to the masses.  I look forward to hearing the device myself. But when I hear the words "audio compression" I do cringe.

But for $169/300, why not? Hopefully someone here gets one and reports back. (For various reasons, I won't.)

Though I guess you can't expect much with bluetooth and a 3.75" "subwoofer."

Very innovative thinking, I like it.
The levitation thing is kina gimmicky but that is what will probably make it appealing to the mass market.
I cant comment on the sound, but for the money I am sure many will take the plunge.
Here is a high end execution of the same idea.

I wonder if they will levitate across the ocean for repairs when they break.

With superconducting levitating speakers, resistance is futile.

Ohmmmmm.

The general consumer is pretty gullible it seems when it comes to speakers. We aren't too close to transcending all physics to allow all form factors and lifestyle reflections to designate their performance with $ hikes.

Looks like a cool lifestyle product aimed at a generation younger than me.

Then again, I thought hipsters were cheap, and that is why they were drinking beer in the park vs heading to the bar.   :P

How in the world will they part with $300 for a pair of these?

LOL, some funny shapes.  Though no doubt the floor standers are serious effort.  But the levitating bluetooth speaker does look like a nice little conversation starter at a party.
