discontinued BIX turntable

What a shame.  Why was it discontinued?  On a limited budget you can't go wrong with this turntable.  The one to get was the improved BIX+

Hi,

I thought the Bix turntable was discontinued a few years ago.  Always wanted to by one but I never did.
