AVA Omega II 400 power amp NO LONGER FOR SALE
« on: 11 Nov 2014, 12:19 pm »
Trade-in to AVA; factory inspected and tested in September 2014. Musical and involving 200 wpc SS amp. Dual mosfet outputs. Uses Dyna 410 chassis, gutted and custom re-built by Audio by Van Alstine. If anyone has the earlier AVA preamps, this would be a great match. Selling (along with Tandberg pre and Maggie MG-IIB's) to keep my dentist working.

Sorry about the poor photos. The paint on the unit is in very good condition (neither reddish nor mottled like my iPhone pics). Note: the right-most heatsink fin is bent in to the left. Not an operational issue.

Asking $595. For the asking price, shipping to the lower 48 and the paypal fee are included. Will be carefully packed, double boxed and insured.

200 W into 8 or 4 ohm?  If 8, do you happen to know the 4 ohm rating?

200w rms into an 8 ohm load. I'll check on power rating into 4 ohms and supplement this post ASAP. Thanks.

I have re-read the operating instructions, and they don't specify a power rating into 4 ohms. They do say that the amp is designed for 4 and 8 ohm loads (basically, any load not dropping below 2 ohms). FWIW, before I bought the amp in September, I spoke with Frank Van Alstine, and was he was quite confident that the amp would easily drive my Magneplanar MG-II B speakers.

I had forgotten that AVA doesn't publish specs.  See this link to their FAQ page: http://www.avahifi.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=193&Itemid=158
