Will someone please explain what exactly does a demagnetizer do in a CD drive?Cleaning liquids, CDs I can understand, but demagnetizers? They were a must for any serious tape enthusiast, but magnteic heads work on the principle of magnetism, so it was to be expected that when you throw astrong counter-polarized fileds, you get rid of residual magnetism, the unavoidable eddy currents. But CD is an optical medium, not a magnetic one.Cheers,DVV
