It's unclear that sodium is bad for you.  The only way to prove that reducing sodium helps saves lives is to gather a large number of people, split them into two groups.  Then actively counsel one group to reduce sodium content while leaving the other group alone. Take urinalysis as many times as possible (to gauge how well the sodium reduction is going compared to the normal group), and follow the groups for as long as possible.  How many studies like this have been done?  None.  Zero. Zilch. Nada.  Thus, the recommendations for reducing sodium are based on sketchy evidence.  For more information, see:

And the follow up:

It is likely that too little sodium and too much sodium are bad for you, but those levels have not been determined with any certainty.

Calories?   Meaningless.  Avoid sugars and carbohydrates, and the calories work themselves out.

Hi all.
First: Sugar.
It's been many years since I've started to avoid any and all type of sugars.
Of course, sometimes it's not easy since sugar can hide himself under different names, but with all my readings, I can now find them.
Second: Salt.
Salt is no good for your body.
Most of the food has some salt in it, therefore, not need top add some,
unless like me, you sweat like a pig (If you know the expression) I change t-shirt four times a day and take 3+ showers.
Normal at 30C+ almost all year round.
Every three months when I go to the doctor, I get my blood sodium checked
and it's always normal, within the specs.
My wife is aware that I am trying to eat as per my Diabetes type 2 diet.
She's also aware that I check and watch my food input.
I am on the way to succeed at cutting rice, pasta, cereals and the same,
but yesterday, she brought home, two big chocolate chip muffins, my favorite of all time.
He's she pleasing me with her muffins surprise?
Of course she is, but I told her two weeks ago, to limit her muffins offering to one once a month. No, I guess she's too eager to make me happy, but unfortunately
she's not. Therefore, I will have to politely and with white gloves tell her, repaeat again, onece a month is enough.
I am diabetes type 2.
But like all Vietnamese, you always have to repeat three times so they can understand.
Well, that's it and that's all.
Good heath to all.
