I ordered a Sonic Impact amplifier along with the corresponding AC/DC Power Adaptor and the USB/DC power adaptor.  The site that I ordered from sent me the wrong adaptors.  I am very anxious to here how this thing sounds and want to buy the correct adaptors.  However, the information that shipped with the unit does not state any of the required Power input specifications other than it accepts 12V or 14V input.  The actual input jack is labelled as 12V.

I need to know the best Voltage, the correct milliamp rating and the size of the jack that plugs into the unit.

The Sonic Impact website does not have this information posted either.

Does anybody have this information?

Ed Schilling from the HornShoppe was nice enough to answer my question in a different thread.

Jeff.....you need 1 amp (1000ma) @12Volts or LESS not more! 13.8 will heat the chip up although I have not damaged one. If you take it apart to hack it...pay careful attention to the power wires hooked to the board...........on mine the "black" was "positve" and the "red" was "negative". Your best bet is using a 12 volt car"jump starter" battery. They almost all have a 12 volt "accesory plug" in the form of a cigarette lighter receptacle. It is a simple matter to make a power cord that plugs in. The 12 volt "charge cord" that came with mine to charge the thing from a vehicle fits the back or the SI and plugs in the accessory port (lighter receptacle) on the battery. EASY and ready made. And will run for days before needing a recharge. And I do mean DAYS. Also I have run one for a short time on 12V@ 500ma but not for long, so not sure how long the pair might hold up. Keep us posted.

the jack is a "N" size or at least that is the Rat Shack number. Center positive for the polarity.
