Do all of the 1 series speakers say model 1 on the back regardless of model? How do you determine if they are model 1, 1b, or 1c?

Do all of the 1 series speakers say model 1 on the back regardless of model? How do you determine if they are model 1, 1b, or 1c?

The Vandersteen 1c takes banana plugs and will have the letter "C" after the serial number. The Vandersteen 1Ci has a barrier strip for spades. Not sure about the 1 or 1b. See a picture of the back of a 1c below:

Hey thanks for this, I have these speakers, but didn't know they were the 1C for the same reason; they only said Model 1.

philcryer  go and look at the number on the back of the speaker noting any lettering after the numbers and report it back to the forum
