I replaced the opamps(right way this time) and 220uf 'lytics,  connected the batteries and this time the other 'lytic smoked. This time I checked to make sure the SLA's were marked correctlly.  :banghead:

I, obviouslly had been connecting one of the SLAs reversed. I replaced the second electrolytic, double checked the DC input wiring and no more burnt caps, Just sweet music :D  I was wondering, could someone tell me the best way to connect a led to indicate Power Up? Thanks for putting up with my moronic post

With two batteries, I like to run the LED between them.  Wire an LED in series with a 2k or so resisor between supplies.  See my power supply schematic for reference.

Glad to hear you're up and running!
