Panny XR70 pre-selling for $339

Hi, I came across the XR70 pre-selling for $339 at:

Anyone know if the models sold in the U.S. are autovolt, e.g. can be used in 110v or 220v?

I called them in April; they said it was just a 'few days' away from coming in. Ha.

Nobody has them yet in the US (don't know about other parts of the world)- these guys are FOS.

One of my distributors has a 30 day notice on them.... i.e. they are expecting stock anytime within the next 30 days.... I'll believe it when I see it... but they were originally estimating end of the year before they saw them.... so there might be some grain of truth to the idea....

of course, at the price they are charging me for a unit, I doubt I would even sell them given the price listed on the title of this thread....

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with said distributor on a different matter and was told that the XR70 is currently ONLY going to be sold to full blown Panasonic dealers. No distributor is going to be allowed to sell it. That means that people like Tweeter are going to be the only place selling it cause you have to do a LOT of volume to be an official dealer instead of just purchasing from distribution....

they're hoping that Panasonic will change their minds after CEDIA... but that is the current status.... just thought you all would like to know....

Went into Radio Shack just to confirm what someone else said on this board recently and verified I can order starting tomorrow (Sept.13/04). This is what the salesman said after reading his computer inventory list. I then found the link on the web --
