Bugle smoke test yeild smoke!!

I'm not sure what I did wrong (other than assemble the kit with one arm), but on first power-up smoke came from under the hood. A visual showed that C7 is toast and I have no idea what else went with it. I am using 2 12v SLAs for power. If anyone has a thought and an extra cap I'd like to try this again

Thanks

Are your opamps inserted the right way?

I think Kylek is correct, the op amps look like they are in backwards. They may have survived the reversal as I inserted a pair backwards once and they survived.

They are right. Opamps installed backwards. Probably need new ones. Perhaps new electrolytic caps too. Try testing with opamps removed, make sure power supplies come up ok.

I was expecting something more insidious... That really hurts. I have more opamps but I'll have to use a couple of ratshack 'lytic caps. Thanks again!
