Bryston sst 14 upgrade and amp question
« on: 7 Oct 2014, 05:14 pm »
Hi

I send some email through Bryston homepage and did not get reply so i try here.
I have Bryston 14sst serial 000411 and wounder how much for the upgrade(from serial 508?)

Second question
Am building a cinema and am very happy with my 14sst  and looking for a Bryston amp to power 4 basmodules and a center.

Is it ok to use the older "st" series(ex 6B, 9B) with my newer sst or even with the sst with upgrade.
I´ve thought about 9B st thx but i think it will be too weak.

best wishes from Sweden

It won't hurt anything to use all Bryston amps in a multi-channel set-up.  At one point I had the 14BSST and 6BSST.  But in the past many moons I have had a 4BST in the main system for the left and right and had a 5 channel Rotel amp I used for the center and 2 surrounds as Bryston did not have a 3-channel amp at that point.

Thanks for reply!
Must be very good combo 6B and 14B?
Another option is to find a 4B st or sst to my center and bridge to get power more equal to 14sst.
I have Nad 208 I can use for my basmodules recomended by the same group that come with the idea of the "Swedish choke upgrade"
But it will be so many amp:-)
