Bryston Christmas comes tomorrow

Hi folks.  I am a frequent lurker on this forum as I admire Bryston as a company and find Mr. Tanner's posts, while naturally plugging his product, to be free from the usual hyperbole and misinformation that is so common in high end audio.  Also, as an electrostat guy, I enjoyed his insight into the Quad 2905s.  It has been years since I owned Bryston product - back in my single days when I could tolerate speakers that were bigger than I am, I used a pair of 7B-SSTs as the solid state amps for my Sound Lab A-1's.  I can no longer stomach speakers large enough to bury me in, and I currently have a trio of David Janszen's ZA2.1s, which I find to be excellent.  In my search for a three channel amp ( I really did not want to deal with three monoblocks ), I finally ended up with a 6B-SST2 which I am extremely pleased with.  I have an Oppo 105D which I run straight in to the 6B.  I considered getting the Oppo modded, but I have been there and done that and for a number of reasons I decided that is not the way I want to go.
I also have been wanting to convert my CDs to computer storage.  Years ago I bought a not-ready-for-prime-time Olive, which put me off a bit.  Also, reading Computer Audiophile will convince the non-geek that it is all too much trouble.  I spoke to a purveyor of a turn key server solution, and was astonished that anyone who trout fished and lived in Livingstone Montana could be such a condescending jerk.  All of the above led me to consider an SP3 and a BDP2.  I did have some questions about the logistics of incorporating the BDP2 into my system, so I called Bryston and instead of condescension I received polite explanations and common sense solutions.  Imagine!
That did it for me.  My SP3 and BDP2 arrive tomorrow, and I have a 1TB SSD waiting.  I have pigged out this week on BluRay concerts which sound fantastic, and I eagerly await the next step....

Thanks James and Tony.  Am I new to computers?  Well I guess it depends how you look at it.  I have used computers for years, but as a tool, not a hobby, and I am a mac guy.  I have stored some music on my laptop in Apple Lossless, for travel, and to use in the car as I have a system in my VW CC using ScanSpeak revelator drivers with an Audison Bit 1 D/A that I route the digital out of my iPod into.
That, however, is about the extent of it.  The thought of stacks of beeping and flashing computer bits and pieces does no more for me than wrist sized speaker cables on little elevator thingies and magic disks and celestial resonators scattered about my room (I do have some old Tube Traps, lest you think I am a total cave-dweller!).

Christmas came early for me Friday.

Finally bought a tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, to control my BDP-1 while listening to the stereo. Took me 5 hours to get it networked into my wireless.  That way I can use my laptop exclusively to play Civilization V if I can get it to work. Watch sports on HDTV with the mute off, drink beer, smoke, chew gum all at the same time! 8)

Sounds like you are going to be walking around with a smile on your face for the foreseeable future  :D

Christmas sounds like a common theme for audio gear this month as I recently ordered a BP 1.5 - be still my beating heart.

Be well...

Christmas came early last Friday for me too! I got a brand new 4BSST2 to add to my system. Christmas came two ways: one, the amp came 4 days early (great Bryston service!), and two, I'm discovering my music all over again! This is one great amp! All you guys who've had one already know this, but this is new to me! Vinyl and digital all sound great! I'm a happy customer.

I was just wondering...did you get your new toys and have you had time to play with them yet? What do you think?
