Wireless card for Squeezebox... Anyone know a source.

Hi,
Ive been a big fan of the Squeezebox music servers for quite some time.  Currently using  a Touch modified by Wayne at Bolder.    A couple of older SB3 units I have quit, and the wifi card seems to be the problem.   (The units power up fine with the card removed)

A WLANTPBG was the original card.  In reading, I found someone who also had success replacing this with a
TL-WN560G card.
Any information on locating one of these cards, or a card that they may have successfully used as a replacement, would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Alan

How about a wireless access point for your network?  In my old place, I did not have a wireless router and used an Apple Airport Express as a wireless access point for my main system and used a ethernet switch to connect my Squeezebox Touch, Oppo Blu-Ray player and another device.  Worked fine.

Thanks Phil,

Appreciate the idea.  If nothing surfaces I guess I'll just get off my butt and find my cat5 cable and  plugger.  Really didn't want to add any additional apparatus, as I use the units in the garage and workshop.

Alan,
What about a wireless plug into the usb port. Like a wireless mouse works? Got an old Logitech wireless mouse around to use the usb plugin from? I never thought about it. Come to think about it, the mouse would probably be a different frequency and you would need a driver which you probably couldn't make work with the SB. So just a cheap wireless adapter into the usb. Uh Wayne didn't cut-out the usb in the mod did he?
Unless you're using the usb for a server or some other source. .

I guess the cat5 and plugger into e-port is what your were talking about as the work around. Correct?

James,
You're correct,  I may just use the wired port on the unit.  These older units don't have USB port.
I did just read on thread on the Slimserver site that someone seems to have had success using an AR2413A card.     http://forums.slimdevices.com/archive/index.php/t-78498.html
There are several on EBay  I'm going to order one and give it a try.
Thanks,
Alan

Alan,
Way to do the research. Necessity being the mother and all.

My touch does have the usb. And so far the wireless (someone is cringing at the thought) card still works. (and I just jinxed myself).

And the only Wayne Mod I have is the PS. Sometimes it hums for a minute, minutely, not audibly over the loud music I play, so it's all good and clearly superior to the cheaper alternative.

James,

Haven't had any trouble at all with my Touch.   The old SB3 units I use in the garage and workshop are the ones with the wifi card problems.  I would hate to loose the Touch.  Its my primary source for listening.
I'll post my results when I receive the card incase someone else happens to have the problem.

Update,

I received the Atheros AR2413A card today and installed it in the SB3.  It seems to work just fine.  Think I might order a spare.  It was only about $5.
