That is very nice. Are you going to put any lighting under the cabinets? They make a lot of LED lighting not that's unobtrusive and easy to route.

Yes, we plan to install some LED lighting under the cabinets. We did it on our main kitchen and love it!

Do you mind if I ask which supplier you used? I find there's everything from ordering reels of LEDs and enclosures separately, where you have to make everything yourself, or ordering kits where they've done a lot of the work for you. I was thinking something along the latter for my kitchen and some closets, but perhaps using the former for installing LEDs in my closet. But there are a lot of different suppliers, and each seems to have different sets of goods.

By the way, the blocking they put in for the TV is over the top! At least you know wherever you shoot a screw, you're going to hit something. I did something similar for my projector mount....and then ended up mounting to the joists instead of the blocking! And, I hit a screw for the blocking and had to move the projector mount slightly.

I used just a basic setup from Lowes. Screw it to the bottom of the cabinet and you're done. I also drilled holes in the cabinets to run the power cord up the inside to the outlet about the microwave so that the cords are all hidden.

The 'can' light is pretty close to the cabinet, indeed. I'd be thinking of ways to dim that one. If a lower wattage bulb can't be found, maybe a light mist of high temp black paint over the face of the bulb would "tint" it enough to make it less glaring.
BBQ pit spray paint comes to mind?

Re: that bar can light near the cabinet - have you considered a swiveling flood or spot directed toward the sink? I had three of them over my mixing board in my previous studio and they fit in a standard pot light outer shell. The floodlight bulbs were mounted in large ball structures that swiveled in any direction.

Latest update -- bar granite is in, glass door is installed for the audio cabinet, bathroom is mostly done, and the TV mount is hung (and of course one of the vertical supports landed right on the HDMI / power outlet!). Pics:

Your rack "closet" is similar to mine. A few words of advise, if I may....
You might want to paint the inside walls of the closet flat black. That will help to keep the glow from all the lights from becoming a distraction.
Also, the glass I used on my rack door is "smoked". If you didn't do that, a window tint would be in order. Since your rack will be near "line of sight" from the seated position to the screen, the glow of lights, and blinking lights need to be tamed. Even though my glass is smoked, I still have plans on making "shields" that I can place in front of some of my equipment. In this day and age, it seems to be the norm to use ultra high output LEDs in electronics.

I see the baseboards are elevated. I assume you're putting in carpet?

I also don't see any holes drilled for the sink faucets. Surely I'm incorrect?

I love those cabinet doors too, VERY cool!

Funny you mention -- I thought my contractor had planned to do the inside of the rack black, not white. Could have just been a miscommunication. I kind of like the white and I'm going to try it out but yes, I may end up painting it black.

I guess the picture doesn't show it very well but the glass is indeed a smoke tint. It's a touch on the light side, but most of my equipment has dimmable displays so I think I'm going to be okay.

Talking about the bathroom sink? It's a laminate so I'm guessing they'll drill it when they install the sink (should be going on as we speak).

Trust me, it'll be much easier to paint that cavity while it's void of anything you want paint splattered on.
Having all your equipment hooked up, operational, and the mindset of having the room "finished", only then to find out the glow from the equipment cabinet is overwhelming during a movie will frustrate you. A lot.

Most of my equipment has dimmable displays. The key word is ---most---

In the middle of a movie, my Charter DVR box powers up to record a program I've got set, and it's like little laser beams shooting out of the cabinet.

I'm just trying to save you aggravation and frustration later down the road.

The sink I was referring to was the bar sink. It's hard to tell fro the photo.

Carpet is in! Now we're down to the finishing touches -- install shelves for the audio rack, hang the doors, and touch up the paint.

Sofas come today, then I hope to mount the TV and install the audio equipment over the weekend. Last but not least, hook up the kegerator and stock the bar!

Fantastic room! That looks great. I would also suggest moving the subs around. Put one between the couches (like a table) at the corner and put the other one along the front wall but closer to the TV. You'll likely get a much better overall response and reduce the ability to localize the subs (yeah, I know, people say you can't localize subs, but I've always found it easy to do).

Hi pg_rider.
I only saw one outlet or return grill for heating the place,
Colorado can be sometimes cold, how do you heat the place.
By the way, really nice place to spend your evenings alone or better with you wife
or wife and your children or with friends.
I hope to see a 360 when the whole thing is 100% completed.
