Resistor in signal path
« on: 19 Feb 2003, 04:01 pm »
Hi,

Ik have a CD-player with a variable output but it is way too high. Only the lower part of the volume is usable. So I was thinking of putting some resistors in the signal path after the CD-player. What resistor should I use and how much resistance?

Thanks,
Bart

Bart,

This link will be most helpful:

http://www.goldpt.com/pre.html

This requires two resistors, and is a simple circuit
known as a voltage divider.  The link gives you
resistor value choices based on how much attenuation
you are looking for.

Good luck,
