Face Lift......

As you may or may not know, I have the original Ultravalve amp proto-type. Dr. Dean Kayser was also very nice to me and built me a FET Valve preamp, without any frills. It has a 6 position line level selector switch, a volume control, a balance control and the left over remnants of the Dynaco Pat-5 speaker selector switch (it works, but I don't use it). I have just finished a new, wood faceplate, that replaces the old Dyna plate (it just had too many holes and an ugly factor) so I made a new oak faceplate.

I've also dressed up the Ultravalve a wee bit.

This is my garage system, powering a pair of Pioneer SP-BS42-LR SP-BS22-LRspeakers.

Wow!  Nice replacement for, what was it, a Marantz 2015? 2020?  Cool AVA equipment wayner. Are you still running a TT in the garage?

There has been a number of "garage" systems over the years. Perhaps you will recall the Marantz 2385...
Or the Marantz SR-4021. There is no longer a TT in the garage, but there is Mini-disc...

Wayner,
Your "garage" stuff is better than most people's "main" stuff!

What do the Chinese (or Japanese, the characters of both languages are the same AFAIK) mean?

+1 on the 'sharp looking' comments.

Wayner,

Nice looking. I've often wondered if that could be done fairly easily.

"Yue Qu".....Lyrics?Lyrical? It looks like Simplified Chinese rather than Kanji.

I don't believe there was an SP-BS42-LR (?).  The original "1" series had both a BS21 (4") and a BS41 (5.25"), but the 2nd generation "2" series only had the BS22 (4").
