TT Repair In The NJ/PA Area
« on: 12 Sep 2014, 12:49 pm »
I recently purchased a Pioneer Pl-518 from a guy on CL, yeah I know a big mistake!
The deal was ok until it stopped keeping it's speed.
So before I go and drop more coin on a different table are there any reliable TT repair people in the South Jersey/Eastern PA area?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Used this firm to repair the amp on my Von Schweikert sub.  They may not repair turntables, but may know someone who does...  http://www.prodigitalinc.com/

Chris, you might want to give a call to Quest for Sound. They carry a lot of TTs and do repairs on things, although I don't know for sure if they do TT repairs.

Hey Chris, +1 on the Quest for Sound guys, but note they are in Bensalem, PA, a pretty good haul from your house.  But then anything is a long haul from your house.  I was very impressed by this shop, even though I haven't bought anything there.  Enough people I know have been impressed by their service to recommend them.  They have the brick and mortar concept down right in my view, low overhead location (the basement of a tiny 3 store shopping center), lines from cheap and cheerful to high roller, and on site service.  The owner told me the service department is his favorite, I assumed either cash flow, profit, or customer generation, or all three.  Worth a trip for any audiophile even if only tire kicking.
