Upcoming attractions
« on: 5 Sep 2014, 10:26 pm »
Normally I would post a single sale in the garage sale thread, but these are some great eye candy, and I want you guys to get a chance to hear the various amps, pres, and other gear before they head off. Here are a few select pieces of a very substantial collection we will be sorting in the next few months.

A fun little Audioromy 828 SET amp with FU28 outputs.

A drop dead gorgeous mid century Lafayette receiver with PP EL84 outputs.

Talk about thinking outside the box! Here is a Ming Da MC 2A3 preamp with 2A3s as the final driver tubes.

More to come...

This push pull Canary Audio CA 301 should be quite tasteful.

The Sun Audio SV2A3 is a solid 2A3 SET entry.

I'm really interested to find out about this eye candy Yamamoto A-08 300B SET amp.

And for any steampunk fans, this Atma-Sphere s30 MK2 is an incredible OTL stereo amp.

Almost all historical collectors of vintage speakers have this RCA LC1A 15" full range speaker on their bucket list. Now I have touched my first example in living color. 8)

It looks like something that Madonna would wear. :)

I see the resemblance, although they left off the flying elbows.  :)

Someone should jump on the Atma-Sphere.  I have the MA-1s and they are phenomenal.

Yea Bob, I thought yours was fairly special. I just can't shake the steampunkd goodness that this amp exudes. It will be interesting to see it up and running.

We listened to the Yamamoto this afternoon, and it proved quite delightful and pleasant on the ears. We are going to try to have a session every Sunday for the next month to make it through some of the significant amps. I'm planning to run the Atma-Sphere next Sunday if there is interest.

I have a question about this fiberglass midhorn. It is a smushed ovoid long throw, with about a 34" width, and about a 28" top to bottom height. To give perspective, it is sitting on top of a cornerhorn containing an EV 30" woofer. Is it an Iwata, or some other  custom horn?
