Odyssey:
When I blew my first midwoofer in a nOrh Marble 9.0 Michael Barnes blamed my Dual Monos but didn't respond as to where I could pick up another driver.

Klaus responded in spades.  He said he uses them in the Loreleis and would be happy to get me one at his cost.  He has done this for me twice.

Usher's US Distributor - Thee High End - Stan & Carter Tracht:
They delivered to my home and set up an Usher X-616 center channel for me to audition.  I bought it on the spot.

They also brought along the smallest of the Usher 6 Series floor standers the CP 6311's. I was very impressed.  They commented that my Toshiba 3950 front end was definetly not in the same league with the rest of my gear and I should consider replacing it.

A couple of days later Stan called and asked if they could drop off one of his personal CDP's (not an Usher) just so I could hear the difference it would make in my system.  After hearing the difference I told them I was going to replace my Toshiba ASAP.  They laughed and said to keep Stan's until I found a new one. I later purchased an Arcam CD 82.

They also mentioned that their 6 Series top of the line CP 6381's would have a tremendous impact in my large room and subsequently returned with a pair for me to audition.

During the course of that audion that they noticed that the bass they heard from my Loreleis during their last visit seemed to be lacking, and the 6381's were certainly not delivering the bass they are capable of. They speculated that either the Dual Monos or Tempest had shifted from spec and suggested that we plug directly into my Denon 3802. We tried it  and bang we had bass again.

As you would expect, Klaus said to send in the Dual Monos for a check up at no charge. I decided as long as they were going to Indy I'd go for the Extreme Mono upgrade.  When Stan & Carter learned that the upgrade was running behind schedule they brought over a new model in the Usher Amp Line the R 0.8 for me to use until Klaus could deliver my Extremes. These are really nice guys and very knowledgable to boot.

BTW, they were right about MY 6381's.  :D

I also have to recommend axiom audio. Tim was very patient with me when I incorrectly thought he screwed up my preamp. It turns out it was my amp that has reversed inputs. Tim also kept in touch with me no matter what, through cell phone, email, text message, everything. Great product at a great price. Thanks Tim.

Many years ago my Bryston 3B amplifier was damaged by a lightning strike.  The 5 year warranty had expired and the 20 year retroactive warranty had not become effective.  Bryston repaired and upgraded my amp without charge and shipped it back to me also without charge.  They called later just to confirm it was working properly.  I have always been greatly impressed by that service and I continue to own Bryston products to this day.

I also am impressed when I ask a technical question and receive a prompt thoughtful response, often by Chris Russell, the Bryston CEO.

Bryston gets high marks for a generation of customer service excellence.

My J.D power Award
- Odyssey Audio - Can't say enough about Klaus. He is a true first class when it comes to customer service. What ever problem you might have with his product, who you gonna call? Klaus, of course :)

5 stars  for the following companies :

- AV123.com - So far so good, no problemo. But they have a long history of outstanding customer service.

- Omega Speaker Systems - Bought a used speakers from Audiogon but Louis O. will honor the warranty transfer even he didn't have too.  See if you can get this kind of service from a used VMPS speaker :)

- Chris Grohs of Terrawood Design Company - Another true gentleman and great pleasure to do business with.

Company I won't do business with again:

VMPS audio -  My experience with this company was not a pleasant one.

I agree with MikeTz - Bryston gets the nod as the benchmark in my book to be measured against. I remember talking to James Tanner back in 89 before buying my first really decent pieces - .5b preamp and 3B amp. He was patient with my numerous questions and at that time I thought highly of anyone willing to spend that much time talking to someone who was "thinking" of buying a piece or two. It wasn't long until I purchased a 4B replacing the 3B.

A number of years later I purchased a new 4B-ST and then a used BP-25 locally and while I inspected the preamp itself for flaws I never though to review the power supply. Imagine my horror when I emptied the box to find its cord had been butchered by the previous owner trying to take a captive cord into a abortion style upgraded cord into an IEC of sorts. I called called Bryston and Chris Russell told me to send it in and they'd look at it for me. 10 days later a new one was delivered - they didn't even fix the old one for me, brand new. Someting given the preamp was purchased used.

Since that time I've purchased a 4B-SST and then upgraded to the 14B-SST. They stand by me so I'll stand by them!
