Odyssey:When I blew my first midwoofer in a nOrh Marble 9.0 Michael Barnes blamed my Dual Monos but didn't respond as to where I could pick up another driver.
Klaus responded in spades. He said he uses them in the Loreleis and would be happy to get me one at his cost. He has done this for me twice.
Usher's US Distributor - Thee High End - Stan & Carter Tracht:They delivered to my home and set up an Usher X-616 center channel for me to audition. I bought it on the spot.
They also brought along the smallest of the Usher 6 Series floor standers the CP 6311's. I was very impressed. They commented that my Toshiba 3950 front end was definetly not in the same league with the rest of my gear and I should consider replacing it.
A couple of days later Stan called and asked if they could drop off one of his personal CDP's (not an Usher) just so I could hear the difference it would make in my system. After hearing the difference I told them I was going to replace my Toshiba ASAP. They laughed and said to keep Stan's until I found a new one. I later purchased an Arcam CD 82.
They also mentioned that their 6 Series top of the line CP 6381's would have a tremendous impact in my large room and subsequently returned with a pair for me to audition.
During the course of that audion that they noticed that the bass they heard from my Loreleis during their last visit seemed to be lacking, and the 6381's were certainly not delivering the bass they are capable of. They speculated that either the Dual Monos or Tempest had shifted from spec and suggested that we plug directly into my Denon 3802. We tried it and bang we had bass again.
As you would expect, Klaus said to send in the Dual Monos for a check up at no charge. I decided as long as they were going to Indy I'd go for the Extreme Mono upgrade. When Stan & Carter learned that the upgrade was running behind schedule they brought over a new model in the Usher Amp Line the R 0.8 for me to use until Klaus could deliver my Extremes. These are really nice guys and very knowledgable to boot.
BTW, they were right about MY 6381's.
