Super-7's how are they doing?
« on: 2 Sep 2014, 12:37 am »
I just wondered if the Super 7's have any success in sales. Are there any reviews on these?? Maybe comparisons with the Super-V?? Someone has to do the job. :)

Six pairs were sold. Then production halted because the cabinet maker decided he wasn't interested in continuing to make them. I am sure they will be back on track with them in the months to come. But right now they have been putting all efforts in the next bigger model with some confirmed sales already in hand.

And while they shared the same great bottom end of the Super-V the Super-7 easily exceeded them in transparency, delicacy, detail retrieval, smoothness, vocal accuracy, balance, faster decay rates, resolution, etc. The Super-7 is in a different class.

Will the Super-7's ever see the light of day for the diy'er?

The only thing beyond the average diy'er is the tweeter wave guide... which could be cnc'ed into a small panel and then glued into a larger panel with a cutout.  Not that hard to do with a little Bondo, or just let Gorilla glue fill any gaps.  Sell the tweeter panel with the kit.
I'd think that it could help fill the hole that the loss of the Super V left.

I would buy that in a heartbeat but I'm willing to bet that Danny can't sell a diy version for contractual reasons.

That is correct.

And the DIY'er would not be able to make the front baffle and wave guide necessary to make it work. And if it were sold as some type of complete kit then the retail market would be over.

They are looking at building the side panels out of Aluminum next.

Wait until you see the next model up from it.  :thumb:

Two sub towers. One for each speaker. Each one has three 12" servo subs in an H frame open baffle.

Oh Yes!  An incredible application of open baffle, line source and ribbon tweeters.

I saw a pair of Serenity Acoustics Super-7's for sale on US Audio Mart for $8000. The ad was first posted in November so I'm not sure if they are still available.

I saw those too awhile back, the pictures on the web site are the ones Ruben took at his house. I was also considering that gray paint, it looks really good IMO.

How about silver paint?

Don't know what pair # I have; these were in Albuquerque when I retrieved them.

Is there a thread dedicated to S7s?  If not, I'm happy to start one.
