Any Long Island Members up for a fun project?
« on: 25 Aug 2014, 10:42 pm »
I have three Teres turntable projects in various states of completion.

I've reached a stalemate on them and need some help moving forward.

Any experienced builders around that can swing by and help me with them to free up my mental logjam?  :duh:

I have a small stack of sealed vinyl (all choice titles) that will depart with the good samaritan in question!

Not that I can help, but a Skype call won't be sufficient?

Long Island is a bit of a haul for me, still tempting though.  What's the charge on the Verrazano these days?

Actually, the most tempting part is helping out a fellow audiofool.  Why don't you tell us about your projects?  Got a camera?

Are these belt drives, rim drives?  Maybe we can help from afar.

These are belt drive tables with VTA adjusters and are all acrylic. Platters are lead shot filled.

The Verrazano is like $16 or something similarly horrific these days  (but of course that would be on my dime)

Bob, I replied to your PM as well.

Sashua,
Cool looking tables.  I see a verus motor and controller just past the second table.  Is that for the one in the corner with gold clamp?

BobM is experienced at setting up tables.  I think he could do a good job.  Being somewhat local is a big plus also.  These projects often require a second visit after an errant part is sourced or something similar.

Were these tables set-up before and you just need assembly?  The one in the corner is your older table?  The wood base looks nice, but I suspect the acrylic/lead is more effective.

It's up to you.  I'm in Philly so it would be a trip.  I'm not trying to beg off, but I think you're in capable hands with Bob.  Send me a PM if you want to discuss this further.
