Trying to Value Original Svetlana EL34s
« on: 25 Aug 2014, 09:43 pm »
Hi All,

I've recently cleaned out my closet and sent a bunch of tubes to Tyler at tctubes for testing.  I'd like to sell quite a few of them, but I'm not entirely sure what they're worth.

In particular, I have 16 * original Svetlana EL34s.  Tyler tells me that 15 of them test as new and he can match 7 pairs.  Any thoughts as to what these are worth?

I'm only thinking of selling them because I prefer the less warm sound of the KT77s in my Dodd 120s.

Thanks.  And apologies if this should be in the trading post - they're not for sale yet, so I hesitated.

Not sure if this helps  but Roger sells the "old style" Svetlana EL34. That price  includes his testing and  custom matching service. which are supposed to be 2nd to none.

I think you should sell me a set of four, matched, for a great price! :D ( just trying to work some mojo here)

Actually I would be interested in knowing what you would like to get for a "quad" of those El34's.
Those that check out really well....
