Last Weekend I installed an upgrade kit for my Zu Audio Speakers (Omen Dirty Weekend upgraded to Omen Mk. 1-B) - upgraded drivers and tweeters. All has been well until this evening. I was in another room when I noticed that the sound coming from the speakers sounded 'off'. Upon further inspection I noticed that the speaker drivers were vibrating quite a bit and causing the instrumentation to sound a bit muted and 'wavy'. I turned off the turntable, changed inputs to stream through my DAC, and the vibration stopped. I listened to the same song, the speakers drivers were not vibrating, and all sounded good. I then moved the turntable to the floor (a bit further from the speakers), and the vibration decreased considerably but did not cease. I could only move the turntable so far from the speakers given limitations with the length of cables. I'm now operating under the assumption that there is some feedback occurring due to the TT being so close to the speakers. That being said, I find it puzzling that I have been listening for a full week after upgrading without experiencing this issue. Any idea why this could be happening after a week of playing vinyl? Should I just go about the business of putting some distance between the speakers and turntable? I will have to buy longer cables and find a new spot for the turntable. Just concerned that if distance isn't the whole problem, then it won't solve the issue.
