I have for sale a rare single ended triode amp made by John Hogan just a month or two before his passing in 2006. It is estimated that there are approximately 60 of his amps and while they may not be “much to look at”, they have glorious sonics that have to be heard to be appreciated.
In the Summer of 2006 I contacted John and had him build me a 6sn7/300b amp. I believe this may be one of this last amps that he built. While it can be run as an integrated amplifier from a single source, I ended up feeding the amp from a Benchmark Media USB DAC. For speakers I was using Cain & Cain Super Abby’s…. and the end results of this setup was a sublime musical experience with a terrific mid-range and perfect for much of the music I enjoy.

I am including a full set of tubes in the sale: a matched pair of JJ Electronics 300Bs, matched pair of Electro-Harmonix 6SN7s, and an Electro-Harmonix 5U4gb rectifier. I had plans to do some tube rolling as I have heard that the John Hogan amps are especially receptive to it, but I dropped out of the HiFi hobby and unfortunately don’t have the time to really get back into it. Rather than have this amp collecting dust, I would rather let someone else enjoy John’s awesome craftsmanship.

I am not sure how much how the amp would weigh once it is packed and shipped, but as of right now it is ~29.0 lbs, 20.5" Long x 9.5" Wide x 6” High without the tubes. I am located in North Tahoe/Reno if someone wants to meet face to face. I will also be in the SF Bay Area the weekend Aug 15-17 and could possibly meet in person as well. Otherwise buyer is to pay for shipping. I can get a quote for packing and shipping from the local UPS store.

Asking $1695 + Shipping .  SOLD!!!!!
