Porter spent a good deal of time searching for veneer. We looked at a great many varieties until we came across this version of Kingwood.
Normally kingwood is a somewhat bland substitute for rosewood. It has the same coloration as some forms of rosewood, but tends to be a bit washed out in comparison.
This particular batch was not washed out and had a very unique grain structure. When finished, the colors really popped.
