The Totem Model 1 has been in production since the early ’90s, and for good reason. It has been reviewed and recommended by Stereophile in its' different versions a record 4 times. It has no peers I’ve heard for its’ size- really amazing. As many have noted, they disappear superbly, and have better range and tonal accuracy than other mini-monitors I've heard. The bass is almost miraculous for a 12.5" tall speaker- deep to near 40 hz., and very tight, and matched by extraordinary transparency across the spectrum and lively dynamics. The only real limitation is in their volume limits, but in smallish rooms or with a subwoofer they are great. To me, this is the speaker the LS3/5a was meant to be - only more neutral, dynamic, open, and with much wider range. Someone wrote that this a fun speaker to listen to- I’d have to agree- if musical involvement is one’s idea of fun.

The Signature model has had at least 3 upgrades. This pair, produced around 2009, is the latest incarnation.
Here is John Atkinson's review- the most recent review S-phile has done, regarding the version I'm selling:
http://www.stereophile.com/content/totem-acoustic-model-1-loudspeaker-john-atkinson-october-2008 This pair is in excellent condition- one is mint, with no marks at all, and one appears mint, but has a scratch and a small ding on the bottom, and a tiny 1/8" wide "impression" on one side, too faint to photgraph.
Lots of great reviews online. Give these a try- a true classic, in nearly new condition, and for less than half price.
Thanks for stopping by.
