This is in like new condition without a mark on it. I was fortunate to buy a used Placette Active Linestage Preamplifer, so this is for sale.
Amazing that this unpretentious component has garnered almost universal praise from the audiophile press. Everybody likes it. This is largely due to the exclusive use of the expensive Vishay S-102 resistors to passively control volume without limiting dynamics or skewing frequency response. This is a component that does exactly what it claims - no more and no less. You can read all the technical details and reviews on the Placette Audio website.
I can’t recommend this passive preamp highly enough if you don’t need the extra gain of an active preamp, and in the age of 2 volt output CD players and DACs, the need is really for an accurate volume control. Accurate in the sense of not introducing non-linear distortions and in that it can track both channels at every possible volume setting, and still keep both left and right channels at exactly the same level.
It has 3 inputs and 2 outputs on RCA connectors. Included are a remote control (volume and input selection) and the AC adapter whose only function is to power the LEDs. Cashiers check or USPS money orders, or if PayPal add 3%.
