My new Gallo Reference 3's present so much more detail and high frequency information than any other speaker I have owned. For the most part they sound great, but I think they are exposing some weakness in my inexpensive AP Oval One interconnects and Oval 12 speaker cables. Can someone give me some ideas on new cables to try that will help me enjoy all this new detail. I don't want to spend a mint, just want something that is a good step up from the AP's.

How much do you want to spend?

How long a length do you need?

I need 1 pair of 1m interconnects and 8' speaker wires. I plan to buy used and would like to spend around $750 max.

IC's are easy - VH Audio Pulsars.  Will set you back less than $100 and there is a 60 day return period.  Don't let the price fool you.  Chris' xlr version replaced ic's in my system that retail over $1200/2M and his digital ic replaced a $500/1M ic.

Speaker cable is more difficult, but with all the money you are saving on the ic's you really have tons of options with the remianing $650.

Pulsars are a good choice, but I think they would run around $150.00 now for a 1M pair. You can check.....here...

Thanks for the correction Chris.

Rob, there isn't a way to stay within his budget and get those, is there?

George, only in the used market.

Wolfy, no, unfortuneatly I am sending to Wayne my 16' Nitro cable in exchange for a pair of Summit IC's.

As it happens Robert had a 4' used pair of Poeima speaker cables that he brought down with him on Saturday for my office system.  Sounds so good I just paypaled him for them.

Anyone know why VH Audio does not make a speaker cable? I have heard good things about the interconnects, but would kind of like to stay with the same brand for both. It's just a synergy belief that I have.

I did find a review of the Zu cables on PF online. They liked them, but the problem with that is, they seem to like and gush over any cable they review!

Chris Venhaus told me that he is working on some speaker cables that he plans on releasing this fall/winter.  He puts a lot of research into his products-he spent more than a year designing the pulsar.  FWIW, I am a satisfied customer with his flavor 4 power cord and a balanced pulsar cable.
