Minimum sidewall placement for SS8
« on: 27 Jun 2014, 01:14 am »
I just picked up a used pair of SS8s in great condition. How close to the sidewalls can they be placed and still sound good?  They are going in a corner of a larger room, but the corner is only 11' wide.  I have a wall mounted TV that I can slide a little one way or another, but my speaker placement is limited.

I sent an email to Jim, but while I am awaiting his response, I thought I would ask others.

18" and I put diffusors right at those reflection points since they were so close and I wanted to spread that reflection out as best I could.

I suggest starting with 8 feet tweeter to tweeter (with tweeter to the inside and slightly toe-in) and put bass traps or diffusers next to it on side walls.
