I have an old Phillips cd-80 CDP that I am using as a Transport and was wondering if anyone knows of things I could do in ordre to bring up the performance? :?:

Are there any Damping Meterials I could use or any circiuts I could modify in it?

Has been with me for about 12yrs. and is still running strong! 8)

TIA

There are great articles on modding early 90s Philips cd players in The Pooge Chronicles.  That being said, I suggest not spending too much money.  My 5 year old NAD cd player was working flawlessly, then pretty much died suddenly.  A bunch of new op amps, resistors, capacitors and dampening shouldn't be too pricey provided you avoid the boutique parts.
