Are there any comprehensive sites that sell current and old albums for DL in Red Book format?
I am ready to give up buying CDs but I don't want MP3s.  I also won't pay $17 for HiRez most of the time.
Are there any sites selling Redbook for ~$10-12?

Maybe try Qobuz? As many redbooks as you could care to listen to for about $30 per month.

Personally, I'm loving it :)

Well, they do sell the downloads as well but I don't quite see the point.

I will have to look into that.  It complicates things.  So after a certain date you look on there but before I go to my server?  Im not sure.

No Qobuz in the US.  I am on board once they come though.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "certain date" but it is a subscription service, you can only play files for as long as you maintain the subscription.

FWIW, for me it changed everything. Well, you know, I'm still thinking about it, but... for a certain $ per year, I can buy a few dozen albums, or listen to hundreds. Sooner or later, streaming will be high res too.

There are some caveats - some labels don't allow streaming, and they don't have everything. If you have to have certain albums, maybe you won't find them. Otoh if you are looking to explore... at a listenable level.

I'm not selling it, altho I think perhaps I might.

Just send in a support request, and they will enable you. Pretty sure that will work.

it seems to work fine here now.  Will have to test it out a bit at home.

Maybe you can work a deal so AC members can get an AC discount.  Maybe something like a site sponsor subsidized by us.   :D

So I started the free HiFi demo.  I can already tell their catalog is inferior to Spotify. Many artists have partial catalogs a la Pandora. That said, it sounds great. I suspect I will have both Spotify and Qobuz.
