I think anyone would be much better off downloading something like REW, getting a measurement microphone and taking some room readings to see what is objectively happening in their listening space.Speaker placement, chair/couch placement at that point is free and would be much better use of time and money than arbitrarily guessing that tweaks like the ones in your links would make things better. If after measuring and tweaking speaker placement you are still not happy I would try acoustic treatments next to make things better. After that, I might try tweaks if they are reasonably priced and generally thought to make an additional improvement. Good luck and happy listening.
Guy,The products are from Synergistic Research here in The US.Whether they work or not, I have no idea.
Guy, you know what they say... try before you buy!
The links aren't opening for me but I agree that it would be best to use Room EQ Wizard to see what you need first. I'm kind of 'old school', and any treatments that don't hew to established acoustic principles will probably be viewed with some suspicion until I see measurable effects.
Place them under your Rega Apollo, because i think that is nearly the main place of your listenning room when the sound gathers when music be played. They will eliminate the physical vibrations and resonances, and widen the sound stage, which is really useful for small auditioning room.
Unless someone has been able to break the laws of physics then I can say they will do nothing. All you have to understand is how large a sound wave it and you will quickly understand how these will not work. Unless I am missing how they are used.
Hi Guy, did your vietnamese friend tell you how much the peak was? High Q or low Q? And it was your room? Not at your listening position?
I would recommend testing the room before investing any kind of money. http://www.gikacoustics.com/room-eq-wizard-tutorial/
Hi ricardojoa.Wow, your (Spanish) name is as long as this one:Don Alfredo Erodrigo Erodrigez. What do you mean by how much? What do you mean by High Q or low Q ?It was in my listening room which has no special acoustic treatment. When he told me that there was a peak at 9KHz he was sitting in the listening position, in the sweet spot.More questions? Go ahead and shoot them to me, I am ready to answer to the best of my (Limited) knowledge.Guy 13
Hey guy, wild guess but it is Portuguese. Yes the traditional portuguese likes long names, usually dual names. How much? Of course in terms of Decibels, for example was it 5db,10,15...I wouldnt dare to ask how much in terms of money..Low q or high q meant , if the peak was really centered or was it spread out to adjacent frequencies. If the peak is in the room meaning, it will peak no matter where you stand, or was it simply at your LP. It sounds like it in the sweet spot.
Hey guy no problem. Sounds like you cant wait to return home. Hope this can be accomplished sooner to you.
