Unfortunately with the demise/decline (where even those in business may only carry limited stuff) of local Brick and Mortar stores one loses the ability to demo (which is important). Also with that demise, there tends to be a loss in many instances of who one is dealing with. For those manufacturers which still have a dealer network, the only means of weeding out dealers who don't live up to their agreements is to police websites like Audiogon themselves. Otherwise, it's not something that will make legit dealers happy, losing sales to potential customers.
