I'm preparing to build a cable to mate a pair of Audeze headphones to the balanced output of an Astell & Kern AK240 DAP. "No sweat" I thought until I found out that the phone plug for A&K's balanced output is virtually unobtainium. Nice choice Astell & Kern!
The plug is a 2.5 mm TRRS sub-mini. I figured I could find a good connector from Neutrik, Amphenol or Switchcraft but no such luck. I've only been able to find a $4 cable with the correct molded plug on one end. Obviously I'd like something better to mate a $2,000 headphone to a $2,500 DAP.
Does anyone know of a source for a "Neutrik" quality 2.5 mm TRRS sub-mini plug? Until I find something else I guess I"ll try to splice better cable to that molded plug. Wish me luck.
